Welcome to The Abbey CE VA Primary School The governors, staff and pupils of the Abbey School extend a very warm welcome to you. We hope all children who come here will be happy and successful, and we look forward to working with you in a constructive and mutually respectful partnership to support your children’s learning. The Abbey School is a voluntary aided school affiliated to the Church of England, and it enjoys strong links with St Albans Cathedral, which is its parish church. The schools’ Christian ethos permeates all areas of school life. In June 2013 Church School inspectors (Section 48) considered the school to be an ‘outstanding’ Church of England school. In September 2008 Ofsted judged the school to be ‘outstanding in most areas of its work.’ Personal development of pupils and standards of achievement were judged to be outstanding, with pupils described as ‘tremendous ambassadors for the school.’ We look forward to working with you and we hope you enjoy your association with the school.
